This week in Transitions we had Mrs.Palmieri come and visit us and had an integration technology class. What fun! The students got up and played math games that reinforced our numbers. We read Pete the Cat and his four groovy buttons this week..the children loved reading how Pete lost his buttons but.. Pete didn't cry because buttons come and buttons go :) In Religion we learned all about how Jesus wants us to be friends. We followed up the lesson making friendship bracelets. Each color on the bracelet represents a different student. In Science we studied colors this week and made our own Play-doh. We made: Orange, Red, Blue and Green. We also made a Rainbow jar! We poured different items in the jar such as honey, olive oil, soap, and corn syrup. On Friday since it was a half day we didn't cook instead we put together a colorful snack. As we added the snacks into our cup we counted each one. Finally, in Social Studies we discussed Fall and all of it brilliant colors. We made leaf rubbings and created a tree for every season. We used paint, tissue paper and cotton balls to get a realistic image of the seasons. The students also wrote the letters of the title for each season! Look carefully at the attached pictures. Next week Camp Kindness and Elmwood Park Fire Department visits...
