This week in Transitions...We learned the sounds of the letter W, wrote the letter and created a Witch for W. We are continuing to work with our numbers. Next week we will be writing out the number word. Don't forget to practice writing at home, letters and numbers. In Science we discussed the weather, hot and cold. We kept track of the weather this past week and wrote sentences based on the weather in our Science journals. On Friday we cooked our hot and cold desert. We ate warm brownies with cold ice cream. We made the ice cream from scratch..we shook, shook, shook the bag and it tasted YUMMY!!! .(See attached for photos) Fire safety played a roll this week at St.Leo's. To prepare for our visit from the Elmwood Park Fire Department we went on a scavenger hunt around the school to find all of our safety equipment. We learned lots of facts during our visit. Finally, this was respect week and through Camp Kindness along with our visitor Kayden we had a fantastic week! The children were reminded how important it is to be kind to one another... all you have to do is smile!
