In math we started our positional language unit. We used the Smartboard during computer integration to reinforce the language. We also moved! We went around the classroom we stood between doors, we stood in front of our tables, we stood on top of our chairs! Then we walked around the first floor of school and I proceeded to ask the kiddos questions..Where are you? In front? Behind? Next to? In Between? We also played hide and seek with our Pete the Cat stuffed animal. After hiding Pete, their classmates had to find him. The child who hid Pete had to use positional language to help the person seeking. Our letter of the week was Z. We traced and sounded out a lot of Z words. They matched magnetic letters from images from cards on to a tray.(See attached file.) In Science we continued talking about animals. This week we focused on zoo animals. We wrote about our favorite zoo animal in our science journals. We created our own zoo scene and we made a zebra out of the letter Z. In Social Studies we talked about the Mayflower. We painted our own and then matched upper and lower case letters to label our pictures. Next week we will continue to focus on Thanksgiving. There is no letter of the week.  We will be reviewing the alphabet instead. Finally, we are looking forward to our school wide Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday!
