This week in Transitions we talked about diversity. We read a story about Martin Luther King Jr. and then created a project based on MLK Jr. (See attached file) In math we are continuing to work on  2D and 3D shapes. In social studies we are working on our story starter readers, which are based on our 5 senses. We also focused on winter in our classroom this week. We decided to make snowmen in science. We mixed baking soda and hair conditioner, then we added q-tip arms, google eyes, and a button for their stomach! The kids were amazed how mixing these two items made the snowmen! Snowmen continued to be our theme in the class this week. We also created a snowman glyph along with playing a roll the dice and build snowman game. Our final snow theme for this week was fun with cooking. We made snowball cookies! YUM!  Next week, our letter will be the letter Y, we will continue working on 3D shapes in math and our 5 senses in social studies.
