What a wonderful week of being thankful! The students started the week by learning the letter Pp. We talked about Pilgrims of course because they begin with P! We learned all about the Pilgrims and how they sailed on the Mayflower after the King of England wouldn’t let them practice Religion. Transition students couldn’t believe they weren’t allowed to pray!! So the Pilgrims sailed across the ocean and came to America. They met a Native American who taught them how to farm, fish, and helped them stay warm with furs from hunting.  We also learned how grateful the Pilgrims were so they invited the Native Americans to their first Thanksgiving. The center piece was a cornucopia that was filled with all of their bounty. They thanked God for all. We also made our own cornucopia from dough and filled it with fruit and vegatables. Then we created our own. Boy did we have fun!
